George Clooney Ordered to Testify at Milan Fraud Trial
Hollywood heart throb George Clooney will be testifying in court on July 16 in Milan against the three people accused of unlawfully using his name for a fashion label. He will be testifying as a civil plaintiff in the hearing, according to the ANSA news agency.
The case goes back to 2008 when the suspects were organizing a fashion show in a hotel in Milan. The trio has been accused of fraud, forgery and possession of stolen goods.
There hasn’t been very much information on the case, but Clooney’s lawyer has confirmed that he will be in court.
It has also been confirmed that Pietro Caccialanza, the judge presiding over the hearing has ordered extra security, saying “There will be a lot of people, I imagine.”
Between dating model Elisabetta Canalis and his villa in Lake Como, just north of Milan, George is a regular in Italy.
