CHOCK FULL OF STARRY GOODNESS…

Amy Adams, Zooey Deschanel Set to Portray Janis Joplin in Biopic

Actress Amy Adams, famous for her roles in movies such as Julie and Julia and Enchanted and Zooey Deschanel of Almost Famous and The Happening have both been cast in the newest biopic of the late legendary musician, Janis Joplin. The film, entitled Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, is set to release in theaters in 2011 and will follow one day in the life of the charismatic American singer/songwriter. Joplin’s fans have voiced their distaste for seeing Adams in the role. In fact, according to ThirdAge.com, the editors of SheWired.com said in a recent post “we’re not the least bit sold on her playing Janis, but we will print a retraction if she pulls it off.” Following the post, there were various comments agreeing, adding their two cents saying “hell no!” and “Noooooo!!!!!”

Deschanel has previously said that the project was on hold and was also quoted as calling it “dead”, so we aren’t really sure if they both will be playing Joplin or if Deschanel was replaced by Adams. According to IMDB, both starlets are still linked to the movie and set to play the lead role.

Janis Joplin, singer of legendary songs such as “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Piece of My Heart”, died at the age of 27 in Los Angeles of a heroin overdose on October 4, 1970.

So, what do you think about this Celebstalkers? Do you think these two can pull off playing Joplin? Also, if it came down to Zooey or Amy, who would you prefer to play her?
